Corrections Policy

We aim to be accurate, and when we get something wrong, we fix it openly.

How we find errors

  • Reader reports through our Contact page.
  • Automated monthly checks that compare our stored figures with the official sources.
  • Automated checks for broken source links.

What we do

  1. Check the report against the primary official source.
  2. Fix the page, calculator or data as soon as the error is confirmed. Errors in figures, dates or rules are treated as the highest priority.
  3. Label the change on the page with the date and a short description, for example: “Corrected 12 March 2027: the 2026–27 threshold was shown as $X; the correct figure is $Y.”
  4. Record it on our corrections log below.

Small changes that don’t affect meaning (spelling, formatting) are fixed without a notice.
